Vinted Shoppers Express Displeasure Regarding Size Changes
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.
The popular resale platform has altered its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all users about the change.
Digital Channels Backlash
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated.
Size Classification Changes
Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
Shopper Stories
A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated.
Marketplace Information
The platform boasts over 100 million members, with 18 million British users.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: last year, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
